"How is the boy? Is he everything i required you to make him?"

"Yes... He fallows every word of mine like any obedient child does to their father..."

"You do realize that you aren't really his father.  He has no true family... The closest relations to anyone is me."

"Very true... But it matters little. In the end he's just a cog in your sick little machine..."

"Hmhm.. Just remember Galford. Your the one that wanted this... It was all your choice.  You gave your life and soul to me."

------------------------------------

Gage would be awoken by the sun pouring through the bars of his room's window. He would arise quickly with a big grin on his face.

"Today is the day! Today I can finally begin to prove myself!"

The door to his cell would open automatically and the familiar voice of his father would flood down the hallway from multiple speakers.

"0900 hours my son! It is time to get to the shuttle bay!  You don't want to miss your ride!"

Gage would run down the hall. He has never been able to ride the shuttle before. All his life he has been secluded to his indoor environment with only small moments of "recreation" where he would spend time in a small outdoor court and play games that regular kids would play... Except with artificial machines that voiced only recordings and moved on a predictable programming.

After a long walk through corridors and doors, as well as bidding farewell to some of the employees of the complex that have helped take care of him, Gage was finally at the shuttle station. He didn't even need a ticket for the driver to let him aboard... He was the only child i'm this complex so there was no mistaking him.  And if that wasn't enough, his blood red eyes would more than give him away.

As he would step onto the train, Gage would be surprised that is was nearly empty.  In any book he's read, he was always told that shuttles are usually filled with people... But yet there we only a few men that were most likely guards judging by the fact that they carried weaponry on them.

"Excuse me...? Driver?  Why doesn't anyone use this shuttle?" Gage would look at the driver with concerned eyes. "Isn't it bad for business for no one to ride it?"

The driver would shake his head muttering to himself before closing the doors and beginning the trip to their destination. "This whole car is reserved for you kid. I don't know why your so special but i don't get paid to nose around. With all this security in here, I imagine your a politician's son or something.

Gage would shake his head. "No not at all! I haven't even seen the outside world! Or my dad even... In fact i'm not even sure about what he does. But he loves me! He's always taken care of me!"

The driver would glance at him with a surprised look. "Haven't even seen the guy that raises you? No offense kid... But thats really messed up. And now he's sending you off to a very sketchy place... A moon that has little to no civilization at all on it."

Gage would cock a brow. "He still loves me though... He tells me he does every day... He says i'm really really important! But for reasons i'm not allowed to tell strangers...

"Ok thats lovely that he does but this moon... Theres literally nothing out there except forests and rivers. Not even much wildlife... It doesn't make much sense that your dad would do that."

Gage sighs and shrugs. "No people...? But he said i'd be trained to survive and kill..."

The bus driver would look at him shocked and Gage would quickly cover his mouth.  "Did you say kill? Why would someone your age want to do that? Especially on this world... Crime is almost non existent here.  So much greater than the other world a few galaxies away from us... Earth was it?"

Gage would nod. "Oh earth! Such a confusing place! They're so underdeveloped and so primal. I sure would love to see it though one day... The books don't tell me much."

"Thats because any contact we send immediately  causes widespread panic there!  It's best to just leave it alone if you ask me. It's a broken planet.  Nothing but trouble." He would sigh and point back to some of the shuttles seats. "Better get comfy kid... It's a long ride to our destination. And i don't know what your pops has planned but your probably going to need the rest."

Gage would nod before going to the back of the car and laying on the seats. They were very padded and comfortable but despite this, Gage had a very hard time falling asleep. What was this moon going to be like and how was he going to prove his worth? And what then? He would eventually fall asleep after an hour or two... Despite the shuttles speed, the rails for it through space built eons ago were extremely long and the trip would take at least a full day. The engineering was remarkable... The product of total harmony and cooperation.

This rout in particular is used very rarely and mainly only for the transportation of plant life found only there... But there have been rumors of darker doings as well. Something Gage would learn soon enough once he arrives.
